CORP association, organiser of the renowned international conference series REAL CORP on urban planning and regional development in the information society, and VisionEducation, an innovative educational initiative based in Erbil, Kurdistan Province, Iraq, focusing on transformative learning processes, announce their strategic collaboration: From 22 to 25 March 2026, a joint conference will be held for the first time at the Otto Wagner Areal in Vienna, bringing together “different worlds” – planning and education, Europe and MENA, tradition and the future.

The event combines the 31^st REAL CORP Conference under the motto “EVERYBODY PLANS ... SOMETIMES – Cherish Heritage, Plan Now, Create a Better Future!” with the 1^st VisionEducation International Conference under the motto “Cities and Regions of Tomorrow: Planning Together”.

A new dimension of international cooperation 

Since 1996, the REAL-CORP conference series has established itself as an interdisciplinary platform for experts in urban planning, mobility, architecture, environmental sciences and geoinformation. VisionEducation now brings a new perspective: education as a driver of sustainable urban development, especially in regions undergoing change or reconstruction.

This cooperation marks a milestone – not only professionally, but also culturally and geopolitically. It creates space for dialogue between the Global North and South, between established planning structures and innovative educational approaches. Together, a format is being created that brings together knowledge, experience and visions from a wide variety of contexts.

Joint programme – joint impact

More than 300 participants from all over the world can look forward to an integrated conference programme with joint keynotes, around 150 specialist presentations, interdisciplinary workshops and a comprehensive supporting programme. The contributions from both conferences will be published in a joint conference proceedings volume.
