Arrival and transportation information

The conference venue is located in the west of Vienna and is easily reachable by public transport (bus line 48A which has direct connections to underground lines U2, U3, U6 as well as the historic city centre), If you are using the online journey planner https://anachb.vor.at/ (click the menu icon in the top left corner to find the well hidden language switch), your destination stop is "Otto-Wagner-Areal".

Arriving by plane
You will be arriving at Vienna International Airport (VIE). From there, you have various possibilities to go to Vienna:

  • Railjet from airport train station (Flughafen Wien) to Vienna Central Station
  • City Airport Train from airport train station to Wien Mitte-Landstraße
  • S7 commuter train from airport train station to Wien Mitte-Landstraße (same route as City Airport Train, but considerably cheaper)
  • Airport buses to different destinations in Vienna

Our suggestion: Use the website of the Austrian Federal Railways to buy your train ticket in advance or get it directly at the airport from a ticket machine.

Arriving by car
Use your GPS to find your way. The address of the conference venue is:  Baumgartner Höhe 1, 1140 Wien. In the whole area of the city of Vienna parking on the streets is severely restricted (short-time parking zones only) and not free of charge. If your hotel has a parking area, it will be the easiest way to leave your car there during the whole stay and use public transport.

Arriving by train
The destination of your journey is Vienna Central Station (Wien Hbf). To go from there to the conference venue, take underground U1 to Stephansplatz, then change to underground line U3 and continue to Ottakring. There, change to bus 48A which will take you to Otto-Wagner-Areal.
